On September 5, the trailer for the musical was uploaded on Weekly Shōnen Magazine’s YouTube channel. The dark tone of the musical and the somberness of the series come through in the trailer. Additionally, the trailer featured a few characters that have been cast and will appear in the musical;
Eito Konishi as Armin Arlert Sara Takatsuki as Mikasa Ackerman Ryo Matsuda as Levi Ackerman and, Kurumu Okamiya as Eren Yeager.

Konishi is a young actor from Hiroshima who has had roles in a few Japanese dramas and the movie adaptation of the game Touken Ranbu in Touken Ranbu: The Movie 2. Takatsuki has a diverse
acting resume, with experience in television, films, and theatre. Most notably, she was the lead voice actor in the animated film When Marnie Was There. Matsuda has mostly been in films, notably the Kamen Rider projects as Kamen Rider Gridon. Okamiya has been a part of anime-to-stage productions before Attack on Titan, as he appeared in the Blue Period stage play.
The crew behind the Attack on Titan musical is led by Go Ueki as director. The script is written by Masafumi Hata, who previously wrote the screenplay for the Blue Period stage production. Japanese hip-hop and R&B singer and rapper Ken the 390 will serve as music director for the musical. Lyrics will be penned by Kaori Miura.
Tickets officially go on sale starting November 5. Osaka’s Orix Theater will showcase the musical from January 7-9 2023. Orix has hosted many well-known entertainment acts, such as Pink Floyd, Queen, and the Jackson 5. The show will then go to Tokyo’s Nippon Seinenkan Hall from January 14-24 January for a longer run. This theater has hosted acts such as Black Sabbath, AC/DC, and Dire Straits.
